The Duty to Manage Asbestos:

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012

Part of this regulation is the "Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises" If you are responsible for any Non-Domestic property, it is your legal duty to have put into practice reasonable steps to:

• Ascertain if there are any Asbestos Containing Materials (A.C.M.s) on the premises.
• Determine the type and condition of any such Asbestos materials.
• Presume materials contain Asbestos unless there is strong evidence to suggest otherwise.
• Assess the risk of disturbance / exposure of any Asbestos Containing Materials.
• Prepare and implement a written plan on how the risks are to be managed.
• Monitor, review, and update the Asbestos management plan periodically.
