Asbestos removal Scotland: Call 01315660096

Asbestos removal Scotland by ASA.  We provide a fully inclusive asbestos removal service to all sectors throughout Scotland through our Licensed asbestos removal partners.
Asbestos is still commonplace in many properties and Industrial sites within Scotland. The silicate mineral was widely used in various types of building materials for over 50 years. It is located in numerous building materials. These vary from Roofing sheets and soundproofing to insulation, toilet cisterns, textured coatings and bitumen. Literally hundreds of products had asbestos added to them for a variety of useful purposes. These included Fire & Heat resistance, acoustics and strengthening of base products such as cement roofing sheets and vinyl floor tiles. Asbestos was regarded, for many years, as an excellent material for these and other practical reasons.

Asbestos in Buildings;
There are still numerous buildings within Towns and cities throughout Scotland where asbestos is located. Such as; Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Perth, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, St Andrews and Ayr.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 specifies requirements for Non-Domestic premises constructed before 1999. However, all buildings, including domestic premises, have the potential to contain asbestos. Indeed, Communal areas of Domestic and residential properties are covered by the regulations and therefore require an asbestos assessment to comply with current legislation. To help you through the regulations we can provide a fully professional service including; management surveys, refurbishment survey and testing. We also provide Asbestos management plans and fully HSE licensed asbestos removal and remediation works Via our licensed partners. ASA has an unblemished record, are quality assured to ISO 9001:2015, fully insured and have over 30 years experience.

A little Asbestos History-

Asbestos was regarded, for many years, as an excellent material for these and other practical reasons and was installed in numerous buildings within Scotland and indeed throughout the entire United Kingdom.
Although the first reported cases of asbestos-related health problems can be found as far back as the 1930s, it was not until the 1980s that direct action was taken on its usage, Firstly by a voluntary ban followed by legislation and eventual total ban in 1999. For these reasons, it is essential that asbestos located in any building in Scotland or the UK is managed in a safe manner or removed as per the current regulations.

Domestic areas covered by Asbestos regulations-
There are still numerous buildings within large cities such as Edinburgh and London where asbestos is located.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 only specifies requirements for Non-Domestic premises constructed before 1999. However, all buildings, including domestic premises, have the potential to contain asbestos. Communal areas of Domestic and residential properties in Scotland and all of the UK are covered by the regulations. They, therefore, require an asbestos assessment to comply with current legislation. The same Asbestos removal regulations apply to these areas as well.

Asbestos at work-

Workers most at risk-
The group of people most likely to come in to contact with asbestos are normally associated with the maintenance or installation of services in buildings. They include, caretakers, plumbers, joiners and electricians, heating and ventilation engineers, fire and security alarm engineers and IT cable installers or engineers.
This list is by no means extensive. If you have any concerns or queries over the type of activity or work procedure you undertake within a property please check on the HSE website. CONTACT US NOW! WE CAN HELP!

By using our independent, impartial, bespoke Asbestos consultancy service, we can help ensure you legally comply with the very latest HSE regulations

The regulations cover all types of Non-Domestic premises, Including Industrial units, Factories, Shops, Public houses, Hotels, Guesthouses, Churches, Farms, Offices, Hospitals, Schools, & Communal areas in flats & apartments.

Where major refurbishments or demolition of domestic premises are planned is yet another example where the CAR regulations apply. In these circumstances, an Asbestos Refurbishment/Demolition survey would be required to ensure that no contractors were exposed to asbestos-containing materials during their work. Any asbestos materials detected in such properties usually require the need for Asbestos removal to be conducted prior to work commencing.

All ASA surveys are tailored to meet the individual requirements of the client by offering bespoke and flexible solutions.
